Two Moms
Miguel wrote every single word of this song…by himself. He performed the song at school on Friday and, as one parent pointed out, he makes us sound pretty good.

My goodness! He is adorable!
You need to make sure you have this around to remind him how wonderful you are when the teen years hit!

He is such a talented kid. You can understand why I had to play it Loudly for the whole office to hear…..

Vikki, Apparently you don’t need to find other moms to join your rock band; it seems as though you have all the talent you need under one roof! You’ll have to think of another catchy name…

Send me a sound recording of his song and the lyrics written out and I’ll file the copyright paperwork for him as his birthday present(though it does take about 4 months to get the certificate back.) It’s good for life of the author plus an additional 70 years!

Had to wait until I had high-speed access before I could view this (ah, dial up). But man, was it worth the wait. I expected to be touched, but I didn’t expect to be wow’ed.
But…umm…
WOW.

This is so great! I’m so glad that you put it up on YouTube. It was wonderful to see it live at school. That kid just plain has artistic talent. His painting is also really impressive.

I NOMINATE MIGUEL TO BE THE INAUGURAL NATIONAL CUTIE-PIE LESBIAN FAMILY SPOKESCHILD!
Then I’m going to go out and get my kids singing lessons (okay, lil’ peanut may have to speak first) so they can line up to become nominated in a couple of years.
Lordy. Now go tell the people at Family Pride! (If you don’t I will! After my work subsides to a point lower than my eyeballs!)

This is incredible! I can’t wait to share it with my kids! I need to pay Miguel some royalties so that my family can sing it at my 20th HS reunion this summer.

Wow! What a kid! I’m all teared up!
I got here from lesbiandad, and I’m so thankful for the link. I can’t wait to tell some friends. Miguel may soon have a following in the Philadelphia area!

[...] Happy Blogging for LGBT Families Day, Dana Rudolph’s inspired jamboree of blogular LGBT family love and visibility! For those of us who are L or G or B or T, and whose writing online is occasioned by and peopled with our families, every day is Blogging for LGBT Families Day. It’s Blogging for LGBT Families Day when we write about the tempest-toss’d route from wannabe to actual parenthood (an epic journey, pretty much, for all of us). It is when we write about our queer families’ experiences of exclusion — or inclusion — at the childbirth education class at the hospital, or at the adoption agency, or at the preschool orientation, or in our kids’ schools’ educational materials. It’s Blogging for LGBT Families Day when we share our children’s brave and heartwarming statements of pride in their families, like Vikki has on her blog Up Popped a Fox. [...]

This put a smile on my face, especially since I am soon to be the auntie of a child with two moms (my sister and sister-in-law). Families come in all different colors, shapes, sizes, and styles. Thank you, Miguel, for reminding the world of this!
